Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Senior Principal Data Architecture Engagement Lead to drive a strategic data-transformation and target-state architecture for a major banking client. You will govern a delivery framework, manage risks and dependencies, and defend the target-state architecture at the client architecture board.

The role requires 10+ years in data architecture/transformation, data mesh fluency, TOGAF certification, and experience with Azure Databricks and bank regulatory programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture or data transformation consulting with leadership experience
• Experience in capital markets or Tier-1/Tier-2 banking data domains
• Owned target-state data architecture formally accepted by a bank architecture review board
• Data mesh operating-model fluency and governance
• Depth on Azure Databricks lakehouse patterns
• Executive presence with senior bank stakeholders
• TOGAF certification or equivalent
• Desirable: decomposing SQL Server/Oracle monolith with ownership boundaries
• Regulatory programme exposure (CCAR/FR Y-14, Dodd-Frank, BCBS 239)
• Experience leading distributed delivery across US/Canada/India time zones

Responsibilities

• Secure read-only access to SQL Server system metadata and stand up the approved analysis workspace and repository
• Agree the RACI, standards and cadence with Mizuho and lock delivery review and escalation path
• Map stakeholders and secure a single named coordination point per domain
• Own risk, issue and dependency log and escalate slippage early
• Chair the DACI forum for multi-domain items and ensure clear decision ownership
• Defend the target-state architecture at the client architecture board with Data Mesh/EA teams
• Author executive summary and roadmap sequencing by materiality, regulatory exposure and risk
• Frame follow-on funding needs and order, and cost of deferral for high-impact core tables
