Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking a Category Manager for Drilling & Completions in Houston to lead category strategies, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance across multi-basin assets. Drive cost savings and ensure reliable supply while aligning with enterprise objectives.

The role partners with Drilling, Completions, Field Operations, Legal, and HSE to define requirements, manage supplier performance, and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of supply chain, procurement, or category management experience in upstream oil and gas.
• Direct experience supporting drilling and completions operations required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in multi-basin or multi-asset environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine category strategies; lead strategic sourcing, RFPs, RFQs, and negotiations.
• Evaluate market conditions, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers to optimize sourcing decisions.
• Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation opportunities.
• Align sourcing strategies with long-term plans, capital programs, and forecasts.
• Establish supplier performance frameworks with KPIs and scorecards.
• Drive continuous improvement with key suppliers on safety, quality, cost, reliability, and innovation.
• Develop strategic supplier relationships; lead issue resolution and risk mitigation.
• Monitor market trends and provide insights to stakeholders on sourcing and contracting.
• Ensure continuity of supply and mitigate supply risks in D&C operations.
• Collaborate with Drilling, Completions, Field Operations, leadership, and HSE.
• Communicate category strategies and performance to stakeholders and leadership.
