Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc in Los Angeles is seeking a Customer Solution Strategist to handle inquiries, maintain customer accounts and orders, and communicate updates to customers and sales staff onsite.

The role requires 3+ years of related experience, an AA or equivalent, MS Office proficiency, and strong English communication. Travel may be required and competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of packaging products or distribution preferred.
• Experience with project management and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proven analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; English fluency required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RFQ process: spec material, collect customer information, maintain quote log and follow through with communication between purchasing and sales until point of sale.
• Serves as primary contact for Strategic Customers and Sales Staff for specific customers and/or project information.
• Provides prompt communication with customer, sales and internal functions regarding existing challenges to meet order expectations.
• Gathers input, evaluates, and makes recommendations from a technical standpoint based on customer needs.
• Uses problem solving to achieve sales and customer objectives and identifies cost-saving opportunities.
• Initiates and tracks multiple projects through development, production, and fulfillment; provides timelines for on-time delivery.
• Compares incoming work specs with those used for estimates; handles changes in job specs requiring re-estimation.
• Prepares quotation requests for estimators and presents quotes; reviews costing and invoicing for agreement with quotes.
