Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Court Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for the 51st Judicial District, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance. You will advise on hiring panels, ensure lawful hiring, manage background checks, and support leadership on complex HR issues.

You will collaborate with County HR and AOPC, update HR policies, lead training programs, and oversee HRIS reporting while ensuring ADA and employment law compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance.
• Experience coordinating training programs and leadership development.
• Knowledge of HRIS, employment law, and public sector personnel administration.
• HR certifications (SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred but not required.
• Experience in government, judicial, or county court environments desirable.
• Criminal background checks and fingerprinting as directed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance.
• Serve as strategic advisor on hiring panels and ensure fair hiring practices.
• Manage background checks and required certifications.
• Guide leadership on complex HR issues and conduct investigations.
• Lead bias reduction and harassment prevention training; maintain open-door policy.
• Collaborate with County HR and AOPC on policies and reporting; update job descriptions and HR manuals.
• Ensure ADA and all employment laws compliance; manage separations and exit interviews.
