Job summary

Cedar Investment Group, based in Arlington, VA, seeks a Senior Counsel to support development, construction, engineering, procurement, and operations for data center projects. You will draft and negotiate major contracts, manage risk, and guide project teams on strategic legal matters throughout the lifecycle of site development and delivery.

The role requires 7–10 years of relevant experience, a JD, and active bar membership, with strong leadership and negotiation skills in fast-paced

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with bar admission in good standing.
• Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex construction and procurement contracts.
• Ability to translate technical project details into legal and business terms.
• Experience advising owners or developers on large capital projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, negotiation, and management of construction, design, procurement, equipment, and vendor agreements.
• Provide practical legal guidance on contract structure, risk allocation, warranties, indemnities, and remedies.
• Support site development through pre-construction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Advise leadership on dispute avoidance, claims, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and internal teams on complex matters.
