Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a cost and inventory manager to oversee the Metals department budget and materials forecasting. You will track spares, repairs, and raw materials, coordinating with finance and engineering to secure funding and deliver monthly KPI updates.

The role involves analyzing spending trends, forecasting materials, and ensuring optimal inventory levels while leveraging Samsung’s proprietary tracking systems. On-site, full-time, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in inventory or cost management.
• Experience creating cost projections and performing variance analysis.
• Public speaking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor spending per self-directed work team in spares, repair & maintenance and raw materials.
• Manage department budgets.
• Audit purchase requests for optimal inventory balance.
• Monitor cost savings projects to ensure accuracy and up-to-date status.
• Self-generate projects and set up new/audited repair parts loops.
• Look for opportunities to repair or second source OEM parts.
• Collect expenses, project costs, and high-dollar parts data for monthly budget proposals.
• Oversee engineering test plans related to cost reduction activities.
• Meet with vendors to negotiate service contracts and manage payments.
