Job summary

Fleet Data Centers is seeking a Cost Management Principal to lead program-level cost management for large-scale data center construction programs. You will oversee cost planning, control, risk mitigation, and commercial negotiations to support RFx processes and contracts.

The role requires 5+ years in quantity surveying and 3+ years in data center environments, with strong analytical and negotiation skills. Hybrid schedule; travel up to 15% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years in quantity surveying.
• 5+ years in construction and strategic sourcing/procurement.
• 3+ years supporting hyperscaler or data center teams.
• 3+ years of commercial contract negotiation experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain management, data analytics, and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead RFx processes including bid leveling and commercial negotiations.
• Negotiate Lump Sum, GMP, and NTE agreements.
• Support financial planning and procurement activities.
• Monitor project finances, payments, variations, and claims.
• Develop and present project cost estimates and cost plans.
• Drive cost control, change management, contingency tracking, and forecasting.
• Coordinate with contractors and owners to maintain accurate cost information.
• Determine quantities for large-scale data center projects.
• Assess labor and specialized installation requirements.
• Provide accurate cost and quantity information to support project decisions.
• Help maintain project schedule and budget compliance.
