Job summary

The Carlstar Group is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead financial analysis and support monthly close and quarterly reports. You will build and maintain cost models, analyze operational data, and present results to plant and executive management.

Reporting to the Plant Controller, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve costing, manage asset accounting, and support forecasts and annual budgeting with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in finance or accounting required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing financial role with cost accounting focus.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills; knowledge of cost systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Own fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure analysis.
• Develop profitability statements and cost models for decision making.
• Lead cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities.
• Coordinate with operations and finance to support forecasts and budgeting.
• Drive continuous improvement in cost and accounting processes.
