Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks an Associate Cost Manager to own budget implementation across buildings and capital projects, ensuring consistent cost tracking, forecasting, and reconciliation. You will leadership the change order process, provide cost engineering support, and coordinate with Finance, Project Management, and external architects to keep budgets audit-ready.

Role requires a BA/BS in a related field and 5+ years in cost consulting on large projects; proficiency in AIA billing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of cost consulting experience on institutional or heavy construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of AIA billing procedures (G702/G703), contract language, and change orders.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets; update for scope changes and new activities.
• Own end-to-end change order management across active projects.
• Lead AIA G702/G703 pay application review and release recommendations.
• Negotiate scope changes and validate pricing with vendors.
• Perform budget vs. actual analysis and reconcile Workday against contracts.
• Lead cost analyses and financial modeling for project headcount and compensation.
• Maintain documentation: amendments, approvals, and financial reports.
• Support sourcing policies and procurement processes; process requisitions and invoices.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and procurement for project execution.
