Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is seeking a Capital Projects Sourcing Lead to drive sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for major capital initiatives. This role collaborates with project teams to ensure best-value outcomes, cost control, and compliant sourcing across the organization.

Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, managing large RFPs, and maintaining supplier pipelines, while mitigating risk and maximizing value for The Met community.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of capital projects, construction, and related services.
• Experience with ERP platforms (Workday, SAP) and sourcing tools is a plus.
• Exceptional negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for capital projects.
• Partner with project teams to deliver best-value sourcing solutions and cost control.
• Develop and implement long- and short-range sourcing strategies for complex items.
• Manage RFP processes from pre-qualification to supplier onboarding and award.
• Provide guidance to requesters and ensure compliance with source-to-pay policies.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier performance to mitigate risk.
