Job summary

Yazaki North America, Inc. is seeking a Cost Accounting Specialist to join our team at either Canton, MI or La Vergne, TN.

You will drive material cost analysis, RFQ profitability assessments, and ongoing cost improvement initiatives across multiple functions including Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing. The role focuses on manufacturing cost performance, plant execution, and data-driven insights to improve profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or closely related field.
• Broad understanding of business principles with strong exposure to purchasing operations, supplier management, material cost drivers, and procurement processes.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Automotive or Manufacturing industry, preferably in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Material Variance Analysis: analyze and track material cost variances and support actions to improve profitability.
• RFQ profitability analysis: validate material costs, supplier quotes, and sourcing strategies to meet targets.
• Monitor material cost changes during development and production to maintain financial targets.
• Compare planned vs actual material costs and identify variances with corrective actions.
• Monitor cost trends and KPIs; support cost reduction initiatives and profitability improvements.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and financial tools for visibility.
