Job summary

MDC Holdings, Inc./Richmond American Homes in Tampa seeks a qualified Cost Accountant to create, manage and maintain job budgets for homes in inventory, performing cost variance analysis and guiding cost management throughout the life cycle of each home.

You will control the PO process, analyze costs, develop costing tools, and collaborate with the Construction and Finance teams to ensure accurate costs and informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field or equivalent experience; 1 to 3 years prior accounting experience preferred.
• Cost accounting experience required or preferred.
• Experience with Oracle-based operating systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and maintain individual job budgets for homes in inventory.
• Perform cost variance analysis and cost management during the life cycle of each home.
• Control the PO process: issuing, cancelling, and fixing POs in a timely manner.
• Identify and troubleshoot PO integration issues between systems.
• Develop cost analysis tools to support cost containment and accountability.
