Job summary

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking a Deputy Program Communications Manager to join the Corridors Program Office in Celebration, FL. This embedded role reports to the office and supports marketing and communications across the program, sharing information with the public, media, stakeholders, and staff.

You will lead development and execution of strategic messaging, coordinate events, supervise the CPO communications team, and ensure timely, accurate communication aligned

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Communications, Public Relations, English, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in communications, PR, or public affairs.
• Experience leading and managing a communications team.
• APR credential preferred; strong writing and media relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communications strategy to promote CPO goals and achievements.
• Manage internal and external communications with stakeholders and audiences.
• Collaborate with disciplines to align messaging with program objectives.
• Coordinate special events: public meetings, open houses, groundbreakings, tours.
• Direct the CPO Communications team to meet goals in a timely manner.
• Monitor and adjust communications effectiveness across audiences.
• Respond to emerging issues with flexibility and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as needed by program leadership.
