Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasoned attorney to join its legal team as a key advisor to the CEO and board on complex corporate matters, mergers, acquisitions, and governance across domestic and international structures.

You will guide transaction due diligence, draft and negotiate agreements, support finance and tax initiatives, and leverage AI tools to streamline workflows while delivering practical, business-focused counsel.

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate degree with bar admission in one or more states.
Minimum of five years in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
Excellent oral and written communication with senior stakeholders.
Experience negotiating complex agreements and leading negotiations.

Responsibilities

Advise on complex legal issues across governance, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
Lead transaction due diligence and draft/negotiating purchase agreements.
Coordinate with internal clients and external counsel on transactions.
Support tax and corporate governance matters for finance activities.
Provide guidance to leadership and the board on risk and strategy.
Leverage AI and digital tools to streamline legal workflows.
