H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasoned corporate lawyer to join the legal team as a strategic partner to executives and the board. You will guide governance, M&A strategy, and regulatory matters, while coordinating with finance, IR, and accounting to ensure compliant, timely reporting.

You will lead complex transactions, manage outside counsel, and help shape a practical, risk-aware approach to corporate growth across domestic and international activities.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree and bar admission in one or more states; Missouri Bar within six months preferred.
• At least five years of legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal dept, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of managing multiple projects.

Responsabilités

• Advise on complex legal issues affecting the Company’s governance and strategic initiatives.
• Lead acquisitions & development due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and post-close integration.
• Provide legal counsel to enable senior leaders and the board to make informed decisions on M&A and corporate strategy.
• Advise on corporate tax-related governance and finance matters.
• Support governance structure and international subsidiaries; manage outside counsel as needed.
• Support sustainability reporting and SEC/public financing matters; adapt to evolving priorities.
