Job summary

Our client in Toronto-area seeks an experienced Corporate Controller for a 16-month contract to lead accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will oversee month-end close, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver timely financial reporting to senior leadership.

The role requires CPA designation, 8+ years of accounting experience, and leadership in a controller capacity. Proficiency in Excel and NetSuite is essential, with Big 4 exposure considered an asset.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 3+ years in a Controller/Assistant Controller or similar leadership role.
• Public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-market) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and Canadian ASPE.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Manage month-end and year-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure tax and regulatory compliance and coordinate with auditors.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team and strengthen internal controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
