Job summary

Gates Hudson is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to lead a 5-7 person team overseeing accounts payable, vendor compliance, and intercompany receivables for ~175 client locations and corporate offices. You will aid the Controller with system improvements and troubleshooting across the accounting stack.

The role requires strong supervisory experience, proficiency with Yardi Voyager and Paymode-X, and excellence in communication and internal controls.

Qualifications

• BA in accounting, finance or business or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Property Management accounting experience a plus.
• Experience with general ledger entries, reconciliations and accruals.
• Experience with automated accounting software (Yardi Voyager strongly preferred).
• Experience with automated vendor compliance platforms (NetVendor is a plus).
• Experience with automated vendor procurement and payment platforms (Paymode-X/Bottomline, formerly Nexus strongly preferred).
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with all levels of organization.
• Strong internal and external customer service.
• Ability to meet deadlines with strong time management and organization skills.
• Strong technology skills with automated accounting, online banking/credit card systems, Excel, and procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 5-7 employees in accounts payable, vendor compliance, and corporate receivables.
• Assist Controller with process improvement projects and troubleshooting accounting systems.
• Manage high-volume AP across multiple entities using Paymode-X and Yardi Voyager.
• Oversee 1099 process, vendor compliance and unclaimed property.
• Oversee monthly/quarterly distribution payments to investors.
• Mentor staff and ensure cross-training on key deliverables.
• Explain and advise corporate policies and procedures to the team.
• Maintain workflows and security access to support internal control objectives.
