Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Controller in Cherry Hill Township, NJ (hybrid) to oversee corporate accounting and project finance, reporting to the CFO and partnering with operations to strengthen financial infrastructure.

The role supports acquisition activity, drives process improvements, and enhances profitability across multi-entity environments, with a salary range of $140,000–$155,000 plus bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within construction, electrical contracting, energy services, or another project-based industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, revenue recognition, WIP accounting, job costing, and project profitability analysis.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems and reporting tools.
• CPA, public accounting experience, or experience in a multi-entity environment is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and maintenance of strong accounting controls across multiple entities.
• Oversee project accounting functions including WIP reporting, revenue recognition, job costing, cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to monitor project performance, manage financial risks, and improve overall profitability.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
• Support acquisition due diligence, integration activities, and the standardization of financial processes across newly acquired entities.
• Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, and the development of scalable reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
