Job summary

HR Works is seeking a hands-on, strategic Controller to own the full accounting and financial reporting function in Puerto Rico. You will report to the CEO, lead a professionals team, and ensure accurate, timely financial statements while strengthening internal controls and providing insightful analysis to drive business decisions.

The role requires 8+ years of accounting experience (5+ in supervision), strong U.S.

Qualifications

8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
5+ years in supervisory or accounting management role.
Public accounting (audit) experience and/or Controller experience preferred.
Strong command of U.S. GAAP and tax requirements.
Fully bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Own the month-, quarter- and year-end close with accurate financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
Lead all accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and consolidation.
Prepare the monthly management reporting package and KPI analysis for the CEO.
Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors as primary contact.
Oversee budgeting/forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls program.
