Job summary

TriCounty FS, Inc. is seeking a Controller in Jerseyville, IL to lead all finance and accounting functions. You will manage budgeting, reporting, tax compliance, and capital planning while partnering with senior leadership and the Board to drive financial strategy.

The role requires GAAP expertise, strong communication, and leadership to guide staff across accounting and administrative functions in a cooperative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years progressive accounting or financial management experience.
• 3-5 years of management experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and tax compliance.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing audits, and overseeing close processes.
• Budgets, forecasts, and long-term capital plans.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Leads all financial operations for the cooperative, including accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, cash management, inventory controls, and financial reporting.
• Prepares and presents monthly financial results, forecasts, and key business insights to senior leadership and the Board.
• Oversees annual budgeting, long-range financial planning, and 10-year capital investment plans.
• Manages external audits and ensures GAAP/regulatory compliance and tax filings.
• Directs inventory reconciliation and audit processes for accuracy.
• Administers patronage programs, banking relationships, lines of credit, and insurance programs.
• Leads workers' compensation reporting, benefits administration, and risk management initiatives.
• Provides leadership and development for accounting staff and oversees systems and financial programs.
