Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a strategic finance leader to serve as Controller - Capital Markets & Brokerage. You will oversee accounting, financial reporting, and controls across broker-dealer entities, partnering with executive leadership on growth initiatives and regulatory compliance.

This role leads audits, drives process improvements, and mentors a high-performing team in a highly complex trading environment with exposure to senior finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience leading accounting and financial reporting within a broker-dealer or capital markets environment.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial instruments, broker-dealer operations, and regulatory reporting.
• Proven experience managing PCAOB audits and audited financial statements.
• Strong understanding of SEC Rule 17a-5, Rule 15c3-1, and Rule 15c3-3.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for accounting, financial reporting, and control activities across broker-dealer entities.
• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee preparation and review of GAAP financial statements and regulatory reporting.
• Support businesses in fixed income trading, underwriting, securities financing, and brokerage operations.
• Evaluate new products, growth initiatives, and acquisitions from a financial perspective.
• Lead external/internal audits and regulatory examinations with stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in accounting processes, automation, governance, and controls.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
