Staff Financial Group in Atlanta is seeking its first formal Controller to bring discipline, structure, and strategic financial insight to the accounting function.

Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will own the close, prepare GAAP statements, and partner with leadership on growth planning and deal evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 6+ years of accounting/finance experience in small to midsize businesses.
• Deep experience with QuickBooks and scaling financial systems.
• Proven ability to build reporting and planning functions from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process and GAAP-compliant statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and deliver actionable insights.
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning and cash flow forecasting.
• Perform tenant credit and deal analysis for future contracts.
• Lead contract reviews and assess financing opportunities.
• Transition bookkeeping-heavy setup to a robust finance department.
• Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and bankers as needed.
