Job summary

StaffFinancialGroup in Atlanta, GA is seeking its first formal Controller to bring discipline, structure, and strategic financial insight to the accounting function. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own month-end close, GAAP-compliant reporting, and drive forecasting.

This high-impact role requires partnering with leadership on planning, cash flow, and deal evaluation while transitioning the organization from a bookkeeping-heavy setup to a robust finance department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of accounting/finance experience in a small to midsize business.
• Experience with QuickBooks and moving to scalable financial systems.
• Ability to build out reporting and planning from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and deliver actionable insights.
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning and cash flow forecasting.
• Lead contract reviews and assess financing opportunities.
• Transition bookkeeping-heavy setup into a robust finance department.
• Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and bankers.
