Job summary

Qualified Health, an AI-native healthcare company, is seeking a startup-focused Controller to own the integrity of the financial close and the accuracy of actuals, building lean infrastructure for scale.

You will manage monthly close, revenue recognition for SaaS, payroll, vendor payments, audits, and board reporting, partnering with leadership and external accountants.

This role offers equity, competitive compensation, and hybrid work in Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years in accounting or controllership, startups preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• ASC 606 in SaaS or recurring revenue context.
• Venture/audit diligence experience is a plus.
• Design lean processes and document them.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and quarterly close process end-to-end.
• Treasury management: banking, runway, and cash controls.
• Maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and audit readiness.
• Own revenue recognition for SaaS.
• Run employee payroll and manage vendor payments.
• Maintain and manage actuals infrastructure and expense reconciliation.
• Support forecasts and variance analysis; raise risks when needed.
• Lead relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and accounting firms.
• Support board reporting and investor diligence with clear financials.
• Evaluate and maintain accounting systems and tooling; make build/buy decisions.
• Design and own end-to-end AP/AR processes.
