Job summary

AEP's Columbus procurement team seeks a seasoned Procurement Specialist to lead complex sourcing and contract development events. You will act as a SME for assigned categories, draft terms, pricing, service levels, and risk mitigation with Legal and risk teams.

The role partners with Category Managers to shape strategies and ensure outcomes that align with business goals. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant procurement experience, with strong analytical,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience in contract management, paralegal work, or supply chain is required.
Industry experience in utility, manufacturing, or construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

Writes the summary and details for complex/non-standard contracts, including pricing, performance criteria, service levels, warranties, terms and conditions, and risk mitigations.
Writes modifications to existing complex/non-standard contracts, coordinating with Legal as necessary.
Provides advisory support for contract development and negotiations to category managers and procurement professionals.
Applies pricing models, cost containment models, pricing caps, total cost-of-ownership models, and indices during contract development.
Supports category managers to refine sourcing strategies for complex spend.
Collaborates with Service Center and COE to align services with category strategies.
