Job summary

FamilyCare seeks a Legal and Compliance Specialist to support contract management, privacy program compliance, and risk management initiatives. You will report to the general counsel and compliance officer and contribute to multiple compliance programs.

The role emphasizes meticulous documentation, cross-department collaboration, and adherence to HIPAA and related regulations. On-site in Teays Valley, WV with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3+ years in contract management, privacy, or compliance; or Associates degree/paralegal with 5+ years.
• Experience in healthcare risk management or HIPAA privacy programs is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Maintain contract management system and support contract intake processes.
• Perform exclusion and vendor registration checks.
• Monitor privacy program inbox and respond to inquiries.
• Investigate privacy breaches with privacy officer and maintain documentation.
• Support policy management system and provide user training.
• Maintain documentation for risk, privacy, and compliance programs.
• Prepare meeting minutes and risk assessments; coordinate with departments.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable fraud and abuse laws.
