Job summary

LUMA Energy in Puerto Rico is seeking a contracts attorney to draft, negotiate, and manage purchase agreements and amendments, ensure regulatory compliance, and support procurement and supply chain objectives.

The role requires a Juris Doctor and bar admission, 5 years' experience in contract drafting and vendor negotiations, bilingual English/Spanish skills, and the ability to lead or collaborate on small projects.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor with bar admission in Puerto Rico.
• 5+ years of experience in contract drafting, negotiations, and compliance.
• Experience with documents, policies, SOP creation and implementation.
• Experience leading or collaborating on small projects.
• Subject matter expert providing support to end users and vendors.
• Proficient proofreading, edits, and fact-checks for contract documents.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and update contract templates to align with internal requirements and regulations.
• Ensure clarity and consistency of terms through proofreading and version control.
• Provide specialized support in contract development and compliance for Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Advise on contract terminations by reviewing terms and coordinating the process.
• Deliver training and guidance to stakeholders on best practices.
• Ensure full compliance with laws and industry regulations.
• Participate in storm restoration tasks and drills as needed.
• Perform additional tasks aligned with role expectations.
