Job summary

McAlvain has an opportunity for a Commercial Project Manager to join their team in Boise, ID. This role requires a 4-year degree in construction management or engineering and at least 5 years as a Project Engineer to lead diverse construction projects.

You will oversee schedules, safety programs, and collaboration with field teams, client representatives, and trades while mentoring engineers and driving on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• 4 year bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer.
• Strong grasp of all building construction trades.
• Skilled in CPM Scheduling.
• Strong ability in cost projecting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
• Safety standards knowledge including OSHA 30 or greater.
• Self-starter with the ability to set and ensure goals and tasks with strong leadership goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the concrete construction effort and coordinate with the project team to meet design, budget, and schedule.
• Create a proactive safety culture and lead safety meetings and trainings.
• Administer project safety programs in line with safety plans, owner and OSHA requirements; perform regular safety audits.
• Develop and mentor project engineers and identify talent for growth.
• Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and develop construction methods per contract documents.
• Support purchasing and scheduling with the project superintendent as needed.
• Develop and audit project schedules across design and construction phases to identify challenges.
• Plan on-site activities including deliveries, subcontractors, equipment, and manpower.
• Lead project procedures and standards implementation; train teams on company standards.
