Job summary

Sonatech, LLC, a premier undersea acoustics engineering and manufacturing company based in Santa Barbara, CA, is seeking a Manager, Configuration Management. You will lead CM processes across the product lifecycle and report to the Director of Engineering.

You will partner with engineering, program management, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement CM policies, maintain traceability, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering configuration management or product data management.
• Proficiency with configuration management systems (e.g. PDM, ERP, MRP).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior leaders, customers, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation, change control/version management systems, and production control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and oversight of CM policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with requirements.
• Serve as CM subject matter expert.
• Partner with engineering, program management, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure consistent CM practices across projects.
• Oversee evaluation and implementation of new CM tools and processes.
• Ensure full traceability between design data, part numbers, and configurations throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead Product Change Control Board and manage document releases and ECOs.
• Evaluate CM process efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain CMDB data integrity and conduct configuration audits.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits related to CM and change control.
