Job summary

Smart City Locating, the nation’s largest apartment locating brokerage, seeks a Legal & Compliance Operations Leader in a hybrid Austin-based role. You’ll own payroll processing end to end in ADP, manage entity registrations across states, and coordinate with tax advisors and legal counsel.

The role combines payroll, corporate compliance, and legal operations, with high visibility and accountability for deadlines, renewals, and filings. 4+ years in related fields are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 4+ years of compliance / business operations / contract management experience.
• 4+ years of payroll operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Entity & state compliance: maintain entity records, registrations, and filings.
• Payroll processing: run cycles end to end in ADP, manage deductions and garnishments.
• Payroll tax & employment registrations: set up state and local accounts; coordinate with advisors.
• Tax filings & renditions: manage property/franchise tax deadlines and filings.
• Legal operations: serve as intake point, manage outside counsel, maintain contracts & renewal dates.
• Compliance calendar: build and maintain a calendar of obligations and provide monthly status reports.
• All other duties as assigned.
