Job summary

The Town of Granby is seeking a skilled Community Development Director to lead planning, building, and code enforcement activities and manage the STR program. You will supervise professional staff and coordinate with the Town Manager, Board, and Commission on community development initiatives.

This role emphasizes long-range planning, zoning interpretation, budget oversight, and collaboration with external agencies to support responsible growth and neighborhood protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in land use/urban planning/architecture/public administration/public policy or related field preferred.
• Ability to acquire American Institute of Certified Planners certification within 36 months of employment.
• 6 years of experience in planning, building, or related fields required.

Responsibilities

• Directs planning, building, code enforcement, and STR activities.
• Provides professional planning services to Town Board, Planning Commission, and Town Manager.
• Oversees long-range planning, budget development, and staff performance reviews.
