Job summary

The City of Yuba City is seeking a Communications and Public Affairs Director to lead public information, community engagement, and media outreach efforts. You will promote a positive City image and educate stakeholders about services, projects, and issues affecting them.

Qualified candidates will have extensive public agency marketing/communications experience, strong media relations skills, and the Cal OES CSTI Public Information Specialist Certification or ability to obtain it within six

Qualifications

• Five or more years of public agency marketing and communications experience.
• Strong political acumen and advisory capacity to city officials.
• Advanced knowledge of social media strategy and content management.
• Ability to build relationships with local media and serve as spokesperson during emergencies.
• Public Information Specialist Certification through Cal OES/CSTI or ability to obtain within six months.
• Ability to represent the City in meetings with governmental agencies and community groups.
