Hornets Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Manager of Communications to help promote the organization’s business initiatives in Charlotte, NC. You will work with the Director of Communications on daily strategies and campaigns, crafting compelling copy for press releases, advisories and marketing materials.

The role requires strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, with proficiency in AP style and multi-tasking in a fast‑growing sports environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, sports management, English or related field preferred.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; knowledge of AP style.

Responsabilités

• Promote organization’s business initiatives across CSR, ticket sales, marketing, partnerships and more.
• Develop, write and edit copy for press releases, advisories, talking points and promotional materials.
• Help establish messaging for organization and departments; support marketing campaigns.
• Build and recap publicity plans around corporate initiatives and events.
• Pitch stories to media; assist with Spectrum Center projects and announcements.
• Support media events, interviews, monitoring and alumni outreach.
