Social Finance, Inc. in Boston seeks a Head of Communications to lead a four-person team and oversee the organization’s communications strategy. This VP-level role will enhance visibility, shape messaging, and drive engagement with diverse audiences across national outlets.

The ideal candidate brings extensive leadership in strategic communications, strong media relations, and a track record of collaborating with cross-functional partners to advance policy and impact investing initiatives.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in communications, including leading and implementing an organization’s communications strategy.
• Strategic and visionary thinker with a creative mindset, proactive and energized by growth across communications.
• Experience building influential networks and leading teams to success.
• Willingness to travel (10-15%), including Washington, D.C. travel.
• Experience leading high-performing teams and coaching new skillsets to achieve goals.
• Public relations expertise with national media relationships and brand visibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the mission and objectives.
• Lead and mentor the communications team and collaborate with institute, partnerships, and program teams.
• Cultivate media relationships and secure placements across national and regional outlets.
• Oversee content development across press releases, articles, op-eds, reports, blogs, and multimedia.
• Manage digital marketing, website, email campaigns, and social media to reach new audiences.
• Establish KPIs to measure impact and continuously optimize strategies.
