Job summary

HDR is seeking a Strategic Communications Manager to lead communication and engagement for infrastructure projects in a fast-paced, employee-owned environment. You will drive messaging, manage public meetings, and collaborate with social media, web, graphics, and video specialists to deliver outreach tools.

You will also oversee budgets, schedules, and staff, while mentoring teammates and representing HDR in client interactions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of project communication and engagement strategy and plans.
• Define messaging strategy for communication materials including talking points and media releases.
• Manage formal and informal public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder events.
• Oversee meeting logistics and vendor management.
• Direct task workback schedules and project budgets.
• Oversee production of outreach materials and coordination with specialists.
• Direct development and maintenance of comment management databases.
• Document outreach activities and reporting.
