Job summary

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law seeks an Executive Communications Strategist to support the President & CEO and Managing Director. The role blends writing, research, and project management, and requires building relationships across the organization and with external partners.

This in‑person position is based in New York City, with occasional travel to Washington, DC, and involves developing communications, research, and bylined content.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to translate complex policy into clear, compelling language for diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop public writings for the President and CEO including newsletters and op-eds.
• Assist with The Briefing podcast: research, guest booking, scripts.
• Draft internal communications and talking points for staff.
• Research, edit, and write books, articles, speeches, and reports.
• Organize monthly events in Washington, DC for lawmakers, journalists, and others.
• Supervise interns for the Office of the President.
