Job summary

Dairyland Power Cooperative is seeking a Communications Strategist to develop and refine strategic communications and materials for leadership delivery. The role serves as a primary liaison among internal stakeholders, coordinating information gathering, deadlines, reviews and approvals to keep communications moving.

The position supports strategic development, backs up the Senior Strategist, and may represent Dairyland in high-profile settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum of five years in communications, external affairs, community engagement or government relations.
• Strong writing, editing and AP style proficiency.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines independently.
• Experience translating project information into clear, leadership-ready materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate strategic communications, messaging and materials for leadership delivery and execution.
• Act as day-to-day communications liaison among project teams and stakeholders; manage reviews, approvals and timelines.
• Maintain messaging frameworks, briefing materials, presentations and related content for internal and external audiences.
• Support community outreach, public engagement, and events with approved messaging and materials.
• Provide continuity for priority communications and back up the Senior Strategist as needed.
• Coordinate input from leadership, boards and member cooperatives to align communications plans.
