Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Communications Specialist to develop and execute strategic communication plans that enhance member engagement and strengthen brand presence for a San Antonio–based credit union. The role requires 7+ years in corporate communications with 2+ years in leadership, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

You will oversee internal/external communications, crisis planning, and use digital tools to drive engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Financial services, banking, or credit union industry experience preferred.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Experience with digital communication tools and platforms.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage internal and external communications, including press releases, newsletters, digital content, and corporate messaging.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.
• Lead crisis communication planning and execution.
• Analyze communication performance and provide recommendations to improve engagement and effectiveness.
• Lead and mentor communication professionals to deliver high-quality content and initiatives.
