Job summary

Peoples Gas is seeking an experienced Communications Strategist in the Florida Tampa area. You will shape strategic communications, develop multi-channel content, and partner with leaders to execute initiatives that support business objectives and protect the company’s reputation.

The role requires strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, with a track record in media relations, digital marketing, and brand strategy. Onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a communications role including media relations, digital marketing, brand strategy, advertising, and/or extensive writing and editing.
• Knowledge of the energy sector and public relations best practices, including media relations and paid/owned/earned media channels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications that support business goals, priorities, and stakeholder engagement.
• Create engaging multi-channel content across intranet, newsletters, speeches, website content, emails, and social media.
• Manage digital channels and ensure content aligns with brand standards and is accessible and timely.
• Maintain editorial excellence through high-quality proofreading and adherence to style guidelines.
• Support media relations and stakeholder engagement, including crisis communications as needed.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to align communications with business objectives.
