Job summary

FINRA's Corporate Communications team seeks a Director of Strategic Business Communications for Market and Regulatory Services and Technology to align external messaging with enterprise priorities. You will partner with business unit leaders and subject-matter experts to craft and execute communications strategies that reach diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in communications.
• Experience providing strategic communications counsel to senior executives and business leaders.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills to translate complex information into clear messages.
• Experience in corporate, agency, financial services, and/or Capitol Hill environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partners with assigned business units to develop and execute external communications strategies, go-to-market plans, executive engagement, messaging, materials and events.
• Acts as strategic liaison between business units and Corp Comm Center of Excellence, ensuring unified enterprise voice.
• Develops communications plans aligned to annual priorities and identifies implications for FINRA's reputation.
• Participates in cross-functional Corp Comm reviews to align on strategy for new initiatives and milestones.
• Translates expert insights into audience-focused communications across organic and paid channels to strengthen FINRA's reputation.
• Surface and apply business unit expertise to enterprise-level storytelling and main messaging.
• Maintains regular touchpoints with business unit contacts and engages SMEs/senior leaders to shape external strategies.
• Represents Corp Comm in collaborations on publications and events with heightened visibility.
• Proactively manages reputation risk and recommends strategies to mitigate potential issues.
