Job summary

The Director of Strategic Business Communications at FINRA leads external communications for investor education and enterprise priorities. Reporting to Corporate Communications, the role aligns business unit messaging with expert guidance, ensuring clear, audience-focused narratives across channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field; minimum of ten years in communications.
• Proven ability to develop, execute, and measure strategic communications plans that advance business objectives.
• Significant corporate, agency, financial services, and/or Capitol Hill experience preferred.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; translate complex information into clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop external communications strategies, go‑to‑market plans, and executive engagement aligned to enterprise priorities.
• Serve as a strategic liaison between business units and Corp Comm Center of Excellence.
• Translate research and data into audience‑focused messages across channels to strengthen enterprise messaging.
• Advise leadership on reputational risk and high‑profile initiatives.
