Job summary

Campbell County Economic Development seeks a highly organized Business Development Coordinator – Communications to serve as the main point of contact for engagement with the business community and other departments for grant initiatives.

This full-time role in Rustburg is part of the Economic Development Department, overseeing content creation, including social media, website maintenance, newsletters, and press releases, and supporting grant proposals and annual reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 2 years in detailed document preparation preferred.
• Completion of IS-100 and IS-700 or NIMS equivalent within 90 days of employment.
• Valid Virginia Drivers’ License and insurability under the County policy.
• Grant proposal drafting and press release tasks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees social media presence on relevant platforms.
• Maintains Economic Development Page of the Campbell County website.
• Drafts and designs monthly department newsletter.
• Coordinates ongoing communication from Department to business community through website.
• Sets up and conducts interviews with business owners for spotlights.
• Drafts and distributes press releases pertaining to grants and other Economic Development projects.
• Assist County departments in grant proposals and applications.
• Coordinates and drafts the annual report from the department.
