Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Strategic Commodity Manager in the California Bay Area to shape a 3‑year commodity strategy and drive supplier engagements across a global base. You will mitigate supply risks, and align supplier investments with Lam’s growth initiatives, balancing cost, quality and delivery.

You will negotiate with key suppliers, lead cross‑functional teams in a matrix organization, and partner with product groups during development to ensure reliable supply and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA with 15+ years in supply chain/commodities.
• Semiconductor equipment industry experience a plus.
• Strong negotiation and global supplier management experience.
• Proficient in SAP; skilled in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working in a matrix organization with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop a 3-year vision and strategy for assigned commodities.
• Mitigate supply chain risks by managing BCP, capacity and safety stocks.
• Lead supplier selection, investments, and capacity expansions aligned with Lam’s initiatives.
• Lead commercial negotiations to meet cost, quality and delivery goals.
• Engage product groups early in supplier selection during development.
