Job summary

Carter Bankshares seeks a Commercial Portfolio Manager to collaborate with lenders and clients, delivering sound credit solutions while ensuring compliance with standards. The CPM will underwrite renewals, manage portfolios, and liaise with attorneys and advisors as needed.

The role requires deep knowledge of commercial lending, financial analysis, and risk management, with ongoing interaction across internal teams and external partners. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience in loan underwriting, credit analysis, and portfolio management, preferably within commercial banking.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in client calls with Commercial Bankers for in-depth financial questions and portfolio management.
• Collaborate with Commercial Support, Loan Officers, and Credit to administer loan relationships.
• Provide guidance and leadership to the Commercial Support team.
• Work with lenders on maturities, restructures, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including renewals, covenants, and delinquencies.
• Lead underwriting for renewals and support new opportunities through the credit process.
• Analyze financial statements, collateral, and guarantor support for opportunities.
