Job summary

Targa Resources in Houston is seeking a Commercial Optimization Analyst to support NGL, natural gas, and midstream commercial operations. You will analyze market fundamentals, build forecasting models, and provide actionable insights to maximize value across assets and contracts.

Collaborating with commercial, marketing, scheduling, trading, and business development teams, you will prepare presentations for customers and executives and drive optimization across domestic and international value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or related field.
• 2 years' related experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong ability to manage and align data across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to present financial and commercial analysis to executive management.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication of complex concepts in concise terms.
• Occasional requirement to work before/after regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain supply forecasts across multiple business units.
• Analyze product supply across the portfolio and trends.
• Maintain critical commercial and asset databases used across downstream units.
• Support and build forecast and financial models for current and ad hoc projects.
• Track and confirm new deals; ensure correct application of contracts.
• Understand existing contract portfolio to support decisions.
• Perform financial analysis of proposed contracts and assets.
• Prepare clear presentation materials for customers and executives.
• Analyze rejection and recovery across multiple G&P assets.
• Regularly produce accurate and concise work product.
