Ice Miller LLP seeks a business litigation associate with 3-6 years of experience to join our Litigation team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will handle sophisticated disputes involving corporate governance, ownership, fiduciary duties, and post-closing matters, including mergers and acquisitions.

The position offers a collaborative, mid-size firm environment with strong mentorship and a clear path to advancement.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of commercial or business litigation experience in a law firm.
• Active United States law license or eligibility in the office jurisdiction.
• Ability to read and analyze financial statements and documents related to transactions.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Experience managing components of complex discovery; first-chair deposition experience welcomed.

Responsabilités

• Manage complex matters through all phases of litigation or arbitration, including strategy and hearings.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, and other filings.
• Analyze corporate governance documents and transaction agreements to identify issues.
• Lead discovery, coordinate document review, prepare witnesses, and take depositions.
• Interact with clients and experts to translate complex issues into litigation strategy.
• Prepare for and support trials and arbitrations, including exhibits and strategy.
• Evaluate transaction documents and develop dispute strategies for post-transaction matters.
