Job summary

Ice Miller LLP is seeking a business litigation associate with 3–6 years of experience to join our Litigation team. The ideal candidate will handle sophisticated corporate governance and post-transaction disputes, including matters arising from mergers and acquisitions.

The role offers opportunities to manage complex matters through all phases of litigation or arbitration, draft substantive filings, and lead discovery while collaborating with clients and experts.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of commercial or business litigation experience, including at least three years practicing in a law firm.
• Active law license, or eligibility to become admitted, in the jurisdiction of the office location.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• First-chair deposition experience is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex matters through all phases of litigation or arbitration, including case strategy, discovery, motions, settlement, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, and other substantive filings.
• Analyze corporate governance documents, transaction agreements, and financial records to identify issues.
• Lead written and fact discovery, coordinate document review, and prepare witnesses.
• Work with clients, professionals, and experts to translate complex corporate and financial issues into litigation strategy.
• Prepare for and support trials and arbitrations, including exhibits and strategy.
• Evaluate transaction documents and develop strategies for post-transaction disputes.
