Job summary

PHOENIX is seeking a Senior Color Buyer to lead strategic sourcing for color concentrates, masterbatch, pigments, and related additives used in plastic manufacturing. You will own supplier strategy, drive cost reductions, negotiate long-term agreements, and partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and suppliers.

The role requires 7+ years in purchasing or strategic sourcing, strong should-cost skills, and experience with ERP systems and BI tools.

Qualifications

Seven+ years in purchasing, strategic sourcing, or category-management.
Experience in color concentrates or plastics is preferred.
Strong financial and analytical skills, including should-cost modeling and market analysis.

Responsibilities

Lead sourcing and category management for color concentrates, masterbatch, pigments, and related additives used in plastic manufacturing.
Develop and execute category strategies to improve cost, quality, service, and supply resilience.
Lead competitive RFQs, supplier selections, negotiations, contract development, and long-term agreements.
Build, validate, negotiate, and administer pricing formulas tied to pigments, resins, additives, and market indices.
Analyze pigment markets, feedstock trends, supplier capacity, and regulatory/logistical risks.
Perform should-cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and purchase-price-variance reporting.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and suppliers on color matching and production changes.
Establish supplier performance expectations and lead corrective actions and risk mitigation.
