Job summary

Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College is seeking a Comptroller to lead the College’s financial integrity and transparency. Reporting to the President, the role oversees accounting, budgeting, grants management, internal controls, and audits to ensure compliance with laws and policies.

This full-time, exempt position in the Business Office focuses on strategic financial planning, accurate reporting to leadership and funders, and safeguarding College assets across all programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; 3+ years in accounting/finance/public operations.
• GAAP knowledge, fund accounting, and financial reporting experience.
• Preferred: Master’s degree, CPA or CMA, familiarity with federal grant compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and reports in line with requirements.
• Oversee monthly closings and accurate accounting treatment of transactions.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to executives and stakeholders.
• Monitor fund activities for accuracy and proper use; ensure internal controls.
