Job summary

Hungerford seeks a Client Advisory Services Manager to lead engagements, mentor staff, and deliver insights that go beyond compliance. You’ll balance hands-on client work with team leadership, guiding strategic discussions and advisory services for for-profit clients.

You'll oversee full-cycle engagements, translate data into actionable insights, develop and review financial models and budgets, and monitor payroll and sales/use tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant public accounting experience.
• 3+ years in a client-facing leadership or advisory role.
• Active CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Intacct, or NetSuite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A collaborative, servant-focused mindset when working with clients and teammates.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of full-cycle client engagements for for-profit organizations.
• Lead financial discussions, prepare for advisory meetings, and translate data into actionable insights.
• Develop and review financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support client growth initiatives.
• Oversee payroll processes and manage sales and use tax compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal teams across service lines to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Mentor and coach staff, building confidence, skills, and future leaders.
• Contribute to business development and marketing efforts that support firm growth.
